Primordial

I thought this scene had a very raw feel to it hence the title. Some areas in the upper half of the frame may seem oversharpened but it's actually ice crystals on the dark rock. I'm working on an uncalibrated display right now so hopefuully the colors aren't too far off.
NIK Color Efex applied to enhance the mood I'm wanting to express.

Thanks for looking.

That's a beautiful, well-crafted shot Bruce! Great comp as well, and the light has a nice soft glowing quality.

I love the reds in this...they contrast nicely with the white water texture...
Really beautifully captured!

It is a very nicely composed and lit image. I like the way the falls is tucked in among the rock, trees, lichen, and leafs.

Nicely done!! There's a lot to like in this comp...lacey falls...ice... leaves and moss. The center, yeah, a bit bright. But, gosh...so much good ...congrats! (Boise F..?) Ken S

Bruce,

Like Ken, I think there is so much to like - and love about this image. I love the contrast of colors with the rusty autumn colors against the stark white of the falls and also the hint of mossy greens. This also has a bit of a dreamy mood to it. I'm wondering though and hoping you have some additional variations? It's like I almost want to see an ever so slightly wider view - something to include more of the leaves, rock and moss at the bottom and right. But I like what you've presented here.

the only minor nit/suggestion would be to clone/crop the bright eye magnets above the mossy log at the very top. Minor, but does pull the eye.

Nicely done on the processing.

I agree with Lon--i really like the subject and colors here, the top mossy log is nicely tied in to the leave covered rocks by the falls. It does feel a bit 'cramped' to me--would like a bit more on the sides--but overall it's a winner.

Nice comp Bruce. I love the mossy log at the top. You also handled the bright whites in the water well which is something I always struggle with.

Beautiful scene. the scattered leaves add a really nice touch. I sort of wish there was a little more detail in the water, but that's extremely minor.

The rich color and silky water are simply gorgeous. The comp feels a bit tight on the right and I want to see more there, but this is beautiful as presented.

One of the best waterfall scenes I've seen of late. I think you've kept it simple, focused on a couple of elements, the water and the fallen leaves, and it worked. Excellent work.

Oh, boy! You really dialed in all the great aspects in this one, Bruce. Very expressive and appealing image. Primordial to me in the pristine, "untouched landscape" look that it has.

This is absolutely gorgeous Bruce. The dof and detail mind blowing and the water movement is so very cool. Did I mention the light? wow. What is your equipment? I need to get out of Florida for a day or so
