This Crested Barbet was the other species of Barbet I was happy to find and photograph while over in South Africa.

Gorgeous bird, wild colors! That is an exquisite background especially for this bird's coloration. Ideally his body would be a bit more clear of the perch, he's just a bit contorted. Very minor nit. The head tilt is still excellent. :toast:

You sure do capture some of the most interesting birds, Ashley...and with great detail and color. My only nit here would be the composition...seems like it would work better (IMO, anyway) if the Barbet was a little more to the left and there was less open space to the right. Otherwise, I think it's a great capture, very well done! :toast: :toast: :toast: Mark

Pretty bird but my eyes go to the bright green in the lower background -- I would try to desat that green a bit. Bird looks good with a lot of color -- head turn is nice and you got a catchlight --

Love the colors and how well the background harmonizes with the bird.

Cool looking bird. I like the way the head turn and the branch to the left of the head feel like they mimic each other.

Ashley, this is a really cool-looking bird! Glad you captured the head turn & catchlight in the eye too, though I do wish to see more of the body. Did you get some other poses?

You have seen and photographed the most interesting birds, Ashley. I like this one, too. Nice background to pick up the colors in the bird.

Ashley, another fine photograph! I think your BG colors set the Barbet off very nicely. Great detail in the head and body.
I also like the overall composition. Thanks for sharing.
