Wonderful image quality and detail. Strong graphic appeal and composition. I like the slight gradation in color in the watery background. Poor wader though, really demonstrates the hyena's "no mercy" attitude.

Really nice shot Andrea - a bit too centered for my tastes, but still an excellent capture. Kudos!

Hi Andrea,
This is definitely one of the more artistic/creative renderings of an act of predation (or is it scavenging?) that i have ever seen. The differential between your super-sharp subject and the absolutely feature-less background is beautiful and extremely eye-catching. I like the positioning of the subject (especially vertically in the frame) but I can see where Guy is coming from in his comment about being perhaps a bit too centred (horizontally). But the image works very well for me as posted.
Cheers...thanks for sharing this one...

Thanks Brad for your comment, I don't know if in this case it is predation or scavenging, both things happen and the event took place quite far
Do you think this image works better than the previous one I posted?
Many thanks Jagdeep

This image, too, like your previous one, is brutally honest in the wildlife sense! Great bg, eye contact, the scattered feathers of the lesser flamingo, the bird's severed neck and head in the hyena's mouth........brrrrrr! Gory! But beautiful, too! Nature at its rawest! You could, maybe, add a little bit of light on the hyena's face, to brighten up its right side?

Thanks Ajit for your interesting comments.
Yes, it is possible to add a little bit of light on the hyena's face, I will do some tests to evaluate the effect

Very intense. Great light and I like the clean surrounding. Love the neck in the mouth and the fact you can see some of the teeth.

I have definitely seen them hunting flamingos in the Lake, so my guess is that it's definitely predation! I haven't been able to capture this beautiful an image of it, though, so well done!
