the opening

Image was taken on Godfreys Beach, on the nortern side of the inlet leading to Stanley, of Tasmania, Australia. I was taken by the runnel design, and the approaching storm clouds, so i decided to incorporate both...and fortunately an opening appeared just as i was composing, leading to somewhere......
Hence the name..

The leafy shape of the rivulets make a great lead from the foreground. The color contrast between the blues and tans is nice also. Well composed, imo. Hard to see for sure in the web version, but the waves make it appear that there is some barrel distortion of the horizon.

Gorgeous composition, David! The blue seems a little heavy in the sky and a little strong in the water. The colors on the sand seems a bit more subtle. I find the intensity of the blues a little bit distracting. Otherwise, this is gorgeous. I love the leading lines in the pattern on the sand, and the smooth surface of the water. Gorgeous!
