Just returned from West Virginia and the Smokies. West Virginia was wet with beautiful color. This image was taken on the drive up to the Dolly Sods Wilderness. Little to see up there that day due to whether, but scenes along the road on the way up. Large image also posted. Comments and suggestions for improvement appreciated.

Stunning! Those reds are awesome and mixed with that fog puts this one over the top for me. Well seen and executed.

Splendid, Matthew! I've often wanted to photograph at Dolly Sods Wilderness.
This image is superbly composed with the black tree trunks some of which are
lighter and textured than others, plus the red foliage and bluish-gray fog go so well
together. I should think that this would make a lovely poster, print, or greeting
card. Thanks for sharing, and I hope that you post more images from this area.

Beautiful fall color and well composed. The misty conditions enhance the feeling of depth in this image and really help set the foreground apart from the background.

Love the soft blue background - very mysterious mood. Red accent of the higher leaves seems a touch too vibrant considering the lighting - I guess I would expect the lighting more similar to the lower red leaves.

This is really beautiful. However I agree with the above comment that some of the reds look too artificially boosted.

A beautiful image, Matthew. The foggy conditions are just fabulous and have isolated the main tree beautifully. Wonderful soft colors, but I agree the reds are a bit too loud for the quiet mood. Fantastic shot, mate!

Love the dark processing on this as it makes the red leaves appear to be floating, and the fog makes this effect even more apparent. Excellent autumn image.
