Lower Yosemite
by Russell Colletta
Lately life has been filled with the details that come with responsibilities during transitions, and it's all good. However, the opportunity for fresh images has been lacking. This was taken back in August; the amount of water left in the fall at this late date is a testament to the wet winter and spring in the Sierra. The entire area was in the shade, which allowed for a slower shutter but needed some work to extract any color whatsoever. Probably a better subject than image, but will have to do until I can get to the best places in the best light. I'm guessing that's the case for all of us who live with other commitments besides the one to photography.

I like the perspective on this, more from the side. This might be a great vantage point with spring conditions, you might get some separation from the rocks. Shutter speed is well chosen and the colors are not overdone. There is a muted color palette there. The image is very good as it is rooted in reality at least for me.
