I took a weekend trip to Newport Rhode Island, and while there was not an abundance of time for photography, I got lucky this morning in picking up two new warbler species, including this beautiful male who was really cooperative.

Nikon D300s 300 f4 + 1.7X TC HH
f/6.7
1/1600s
ISO 400

Cropped to 68%, adjustments in ACR to tone down yellows, sharpened in CS5 on 27" iMac

Excellent. Lots of "presence" to this. Good exposure and sharpness; nice setting and colors.

Congrats, this is a tough species to get I believe. The sharpness on the head looks great. I find myself wishing for a bit more depth of field but that would have made the bg more busy. :toast:

Nice shot Luke, really like the semi-raised wing pose you have here. For all the many species of Warbler we have over here in Thailand, I'm kind of amazed that none of them appear to be anywhere near as colourful as the species you have over there. Anyhow, thanks for sharing :^)

Love the composition and how the branches frame the bright yellow bird,
