Looks Can Be Deceiving

Here is another photo made a couple of weeks ago on the one of the local Scott Kelby Photo Walks in the Alviso are of San Jose. It the extreme southern part of the San Francisco Bay. In this photo, as with the last I walked down in to the mud flats as there was a red algae bloom taking place in the waters there and it made for some very interesting colors. However, the stench was nearly unbearable. I think my boots still stink. Iwas only carrying a small 6 MP DSLR so even though I like this photo quite a bit, I am afraid it will never be on paper.

Your thoughts and comments appreciated.

The multiple color bands and different textures are eye-catching.

Stan, I do plan on going back when the conditions are nearly the same and redo this with the 4x5.

Pretty cool, I would keep it if it were mine. Colors and textures surreal. Reminds me of sandstone abstracts.

Very cool shot Youssef. Nicely seen and composed. A successful break from the ordinary landscape, but a legit slice of nature.

This really works well, Youssef. The pink certainly adds a neat twist to water photography, and the diagonal comp is very engaging. Glad to know smell doesn't come through on wi-fi.

Very nice, Youssef. A lovely little scene that has been presented so well.

I often visit those parts and take delight in the natural surroundings. The stench varies and on some days isn't too bad.
