"Across the Lake #2"
I couldn't stay at work and miss this light. Tests will still be there for grading tomorrow. Thanks for looking and for any critique.

The light adds magic to the scene!. I don't see any flaw here, a beautiful moment captured with perfection.

Nice work Kent. Some cool and interesting light glowing around the mountain. The placement of the ice was key in keeping the balance here.
Great mixture of colors and textures.
Nice job

You're right - great light! Well composed too. It's obviously quite chilly, but the light look so warm - a lovely combination.

Gorgeous Kent. I can't help wondering if a sunstar could have been achieved with a shot just seconds prior. Regardless, love the fg ice and the light is spectacular.

Thanks for the positive feedback, everyone.
Bruce - Do you mean a star diffraction effect from reflections off the foreground ice? The sun was behind me as I composed this image, not over the lake. On the ice, I couldn't pull an image off that incorporated f/22 for the stars because the little bergs move too much.

Spectacular juxtaposition of elements here, Kent; the warmth of the mountains and cool of the ice is entertaining to view. Excellent shot.

Yeah, I'd want to take a break for that too. Gorgeous light! Isn't this the bay where you saw a unicorn once?

Chris - This is the freshwater lake where I just missed photographing a unicorn-orca in a full breach.

This is outstanding Kent. I love the colors in this shot and your comp is great. You need to get another job, one that lets you photograph more. hint, hint.

Dennis - Thanks for the flattering "hint". Fortunately for me, I do love to teach, and as far as time for photography goes, there aren't many better "day jobs". I also love living here in Juneau, where light like this only shows up a couple times a month through most of the year.
Everyone - Thank you for your time taken in commenting.
PS - Half the tests have still yet to be graded.

Very nice work, Kent. The composition is very well balanced and the low perspective really puts me in the scene . . . I feel like I could reach out and touch the ice. Great shot.
