Caracara

It has been windy around here at times lately and I like it. It tends to make the birds, like this Caracara, fly in more dynamic ways. Please view the larger version for max details.

Wonderful detail in the larger image, nice timing to get the slight head turn and eye contact. I like the tail feathers spread out so you can appreciate the feather patterns. Way to go Ron, well done.

Terrific! Excellent sharpness; nice detail; nice exposure. Nice flight position that shows off lots of wing and tail feathers.

Would love to see one of these in the wild. That spread tail is so cool. You do the best BIF images. Amazing as always.

Ron, everything about this is fantastic! I love the wing position and the head angle...well...couldn't ask for it in a better place IMO. Great details, light and color.

Just excellent! I'd love to shoot one of these someday, even if it's just sitting on a branch.

Ron, Nice capture with the head clear of the primaries. Nice exposure and sharpness. Many times I see these guys look washed out. I like that you kept the darks dark.

Lovely flight image of this bird. Great colors and saturation is very nice. I like the dorsal view of the spread tail and eye contact with nice light. I'm always a little disappointed that this bird is a scavenger. He would have made a great raptor with a little more effort.

This is excellent Ron. Perfect tilt of the body and great left wing position to get good light and detail and a wonderful little head turn in flight (that many of us have difficulty getting in stationary birds that we get many shots of). And if the bird is banded we can't see it, which I also appreciate. Another feather in your cap!
