Taken about an hour before my previous post when this Warbling Vireo made a brief visit to a water fountain at the arboretum. I suspect this image is more in keeping with the preferences here at NPN than the
previous one (which I much preferred).

The "weird" setting is a "negative edge" water feature - a round shallow bowl with water piped up in the center that then cascades over the edges where it is collected beneath the bowl. Birds land on the edge to drink and occasionally to dip forward to bathe.
Since the bowl is round there is no straight edge. The bird is slightly left of the "center" of the opposite edge from my position - if it was at the center point then I'd have to deal with the jet of water shooting up in the center of the bowl. Rotating the image to "level" the edge of the bowl would tilt the vireo down in front and make it out of level. Check the small reflection of the leg to see that it aligns with the leg showing it doesn't need any rotation.
Good details and well composed, like how the bird has picked up some of the blues from the water also.
Well done Rich.

Superb head and wing detail only getting soft towards the tail. The light is exceptional as is the pose. Love the infinity pool look to this. Colors are rendered beautifully Richard.
