Another from the whiskey barrel planter, first close shot of the Lincoln's Sparrow for me in quite awhile.
F/11, 1/1000th, ISO 500, 1D M3, 300mm f/2.8 + 2x Kenko.
Clear & sunny around noon.

Nice, Howard. Particularly for sunny noontime. That old whiskey barrel makes a sweet perch.

Very nice portrait taken in strong light conditions (but pretty good using a 2x tc)- A pleasant BG and an unusual interesting perch (your flowers should have a nice malted scent)- Ciao, Fabio

Howard, a bird after my own heart - I'll bet it thought there might be whiskey in there! I like the curve of the barrel, the colors overall and the background.

Great shot Howard, I particularly like the rich colours of this Sparrow, the composition and DOF!

Very nice! I too like the unusual perch, especially since it looks quite weathered.

I've found this to be a difficult species to photograph. Very well done. Good detail, good perch and nice techs.
