Thought I'd give you a change of pace from the Harriers.
Nikon D7000 (Fantastic, inexpensive camera body)
600mm + 1.4TC = 850mm
F/9
1/2000
ISO 500
A/Priority
Center Weighted avg.
White Balance Sunny
Exposure Comp + 2/3
Cropped 42%
Tripd w/Wimberly Head
Raw
Shot lots of kestrels while I was out shooting the harriers a week ago and thought I'd share an image of two females fighting over a perch that both seemed to be using. There were two other stick ups like this single branch and both had kestrels on them so.....too many kestrels, not enough perches....fighting erupts. This was cropped quite a bit so we'll see if it holds up with a small file size. Larger version included. Thanks for having a look see.

Sweet! Great action! I'd love to find a place with "too many kestrels.."
The large size is a little soft from the large crop, but still an excellent image.

Nice action shot - never seen them like that ! The perch looks a little out of place at a first glance, but since this was their main point of interest... Well done, cheers, Hans

Great action shot! Interesting to fight over such a flimsy looking perch - well captured

I like the action David. The position of the two birds is great. It would be stronger if we could see the eye of the left bird. Larger image shows the large crop, but still a very nice shot. I need to find an area with too many kestrels, but probably not likely.

The crop size is showing a bit, but the action makes up for it, David. Great poses. Too many Kestrels? How can that be?

Interesting action shot David. Good exposure, your framing works well for me and I think your large crop held up reasonably well.

Wonderful action shot, I like seeing the wing spread and feather patterns, these are really colorful birds, nice job in getting this difficult shot, way to go.
