Pronghorn ll

On my last post Vincent suggested that if I had another image of this running Pronghorn "without the legs overlapping the way they do" it might make for a stronger image. I have another shot where the entire animal, including feet, is above the horizon line but the leg positions are similar to my first post so I thought I'd run this one by you to see what you might think about the leg positions. This photo was taken four clicks in the burst after the last one. Thanks.

7D, 1/1250, f/5.6, ISO 640, EV + 0.67, 500 f/4, 1.4 tc, shot from pickup window on 9/21/11 in very warm light, exposure adjustment in ACR, cropped to 60% of original image, selectively sharpened, no additional processing or adjustments

Prefer the first post, to me it gives a better feeling of speed. Posting 2, the rear legs are behind grass, looks more like the start of a leap. I like photos of pronghorns so thanks for sharing another.

I like them for their differences. This animal seems unconcerned about you and so natural.

Great image. I like the comp., the color a lot and great sharpness. I really enjoy watching Pronghorns run.

Not sure which one I like best Ron, probably the first because as John said it really does make you feel the speed more, but I do also like this outstretched pose. Congrats on having both of them!!!

Both frames are wonderful to my eye Ron, though my instinctive preference is for the previous one you posted.

I agree both are excellent images Ron. I do prefer the stretched pose here, but the fact that there is more overlap with the ground (less sky below the pronghorn as Jagdeep said) is a negative compared to version one.

Both are nice, Ron, but the other has the sense of raw speed one associates with pronghorn.

Ron, I commend you for this series. I've tried capturing running pronghorns and never have much luck. The warm tones and light are quite nice, but I really like that you managed to capture the feet... they're so often obscured by too much scrub.

Ron,
I like them both. I enjoy the first because of the blue sky background. The second's flat out stride is powerful.
There is so much to enjoy in nature, capturing little stories like this one is so much fun. Thanks for sharing and inspiring.

Both are nice images of these pronghorn. I have found pronghorn to be very hard to get of shot of and very skiddish so nice in getting this sequence. I happen to like the first one better just because of the horizon line and seeing the legs better. Well done Ron.
