Wow, there has been some excellent images posted in the last couple of weeks here at NPN. Keep up the great work everyone!

Fall is slowly creeping in here in the Adirondacks and I'm getting anxious to get out and shoot. Shows have kept me pretty busy this summer and I didn't get out as much as I would have liked. I decided to go through some images taken last September in RMNP. Much of the trees were still green but the smaller aspens were at their peak in the higher elevations, especially along Bear Lake Road. This was taken from the trail to Dream Lake after shooting the sunrise there.

Please view the LARGER version for better detail. Thanks for any thoughts you have on this!

All these fall teasers are really getting me anxious for autumn. I love the splashes of color along the edges. It also must be a dream hiking around there.

ps. Thanks for commenting on my image. I couldn't put my finger on what they really looked like but I was thinking more in lines of your bizarre jellyfish tenticles, lol

I am ready for Fall in the Sierra, Zack, and this is a teaser, for sure. Nice color in the aspens and the mountains. There does appear to be bit too much cyan/blue in the firs. The grasses and boulders are a nice touch.

Nice catch Preston, here's another version based on your suggestions. I adjusted the WB just a hair and reduced the cyan/blues in the trees.

I had to click on it cause having just been in the Bear Creek area--i was pretty sure this was last year! (colors are late this year). Nice view of Longs, Zack, the colors look fine to me (in either version). Wish there was a bit more of the Aspen on the left, but other than that this is nice. Im psyched for fall shooting!

Zack,

A well seen and captured early autumn image. The repost looks spot on after that great suggestion from Preston. Subtle, but certainly made a difference.

What I like here is the autumn framing up front. It's almost like the opposite of most RM autumn images we see where the distant mountainsides are covered in fall color. But here, there is no color in the bg yet, it's all right up front. I do kinda wish there was a tad more of the aspen on the left, but that's minor. Nice work I like this a lot.

Very nice image and I'm looking forward to some cool fall morning hikes in the Sierra. Like Stan mentioned, I wish there was either more of the tree on the left, or none at all, but still a nice scene.

Great view Zack, and I like the touch of fall here too. Images like this really set me in the mood for the fall season. Heading north for Upper MI one week from today! Nice work.

A classical mountain scene in the fall. Very well presentated. I like it very much.

An excellent mountain landscape, Zack! I like the color tones in the revised version better. I've recently started viewing these galleries in both Firefox and IE and in this case I think I prefer the IE version. It has more contrast and stronger saturation. The Firefox version seems a bit flat but it does have more natural colors.

Wonderful composition and processing Zack. I am on the fence about the yellow tree on the left though. The color is nice and it helps guide the eye into the image, but it leaves wanting to see more on the left side.

Just catching up with some comments, Zack, and thanks for your earlier one. It's a beautiful scene well captured. Adding too much aspen on the left might well be a distraction from the main subject, the mountain in the background. I tend to like the comp just the way it is. Nice work!
