Datura Swirls

Datura Flower partially opened. Daturas are poisonous.

ND300s, AFD200mm F/4 Micronikkor, F/6.3 (F/5.6 not good enough, F/8 made the background prominent), 1/125 Sec, ISO200, Overcast Sky and Tripod.

There is a white lining to the petal edges - it sure looks bright but its not over exposed. I am not sure what I could have about it, if it distracts a little bit.

Thanks for a lot for your comments on Hibiscus and do let me know if this one appeals to you.

Another interesting swirling flower. This is a great follow-up/companion to Hibiscus. The square comp works well. :toast:

Interesting flower, Ram. If anything the edge adds detail an blending appeal. A side view must be interesting too as it appears the center and those curled outside edges of the petals are sharpest. Lovely image and well complimenting BG.

Ram:
Beautiful symmetry in this image with the unfurling of the the petals. The white looks okay but if it bothers you, you could perhaps play with the recovery slider in ACR. The DOF is perfect and the blur of the outer petals implied spinning motion.

This is beautiful. I agree that the white edges add interest and enhance the image.. The background is well controlled. I also like the suggestion of rotation created by the out of focus flower parts.

Very nice Ram! Looks like you achieved perfect DOF, and I like the opposing folds and lines of the blossom.

This is exquisite! I dont find the white detracting at all. I especially love the sharp curves at the tips. I have tried this on a less perfect specimen without success. You have done a very finr job!!
