The Frozen Mirror

This image had a beautiful encounter and was one of my first images that I started working on as soon as I got back. It has a sentimental value to me, as a group we hiked for about 20km and slept the night in a tent and till date this is the most harshest nights I have ever encountered. With temperature went below 14 degrees celsius.

I will never forget the night as some of us had to jog at 2 am trying to warm up their bodies. Others thought they had a sleeping insomnia as they kept sleeping for 30 mins every hour.

The morning sunshine paid off and the reflection could not get any better.

Go Large!

Love the tranquility of your image, a beautiful foreground. Unexpected Minus 15 Celsius, for somebody from Dubai. That had to be a night to remember.

Perfect composition and good detail. I would like to have seen an earlier shot, but this is good as is.

This feels really cold and the large version is very nice. The frosted fg is a nice touch, too. The group of green trees on the left is in contrast to the coolness of the rest of the image, but that doesn't take anything away from this. The water level appears to have a slight tilt to the right. Nicely done.

What a great foreground to compliment the background. I find the left side of the image particularly strong.

I love the symmetry in this and the exposure is perfect with all the fine details & textures in the snow plus no blown highlights in the clouds. Nice crisp details front and back also. Nicely shot and a great image, Abdulla!

Abdulla, I appreciate your composition with the tranquil reflection. The tangible details of the foreground elements really let me feel this icy atmosphere. Great work in my opinion.

Abdulla,

I missed commenting on your first post here, so I would like to welcome you to NPN and the Landscape Gallery! You're off to a great start and this is a beauty. What I like most here is the distinct portrayal of a cold, winter crispness; cold, but there's a freshness to the air that I can almost almost feel. The only nit I have is that this appears to have a slight cw rotation to it - not much but noticeable.

Thanks for posting and welcome aboard!
