Sierra Sunrise

I was backpacking in the Sierras two years ago when I took this on our first morning at Steelhead Lake, above McGee Creek. The typical Sierra sunrise in the summer usually consists of clear skies, so I was happy to see some clouds on this morning.
Thanks and comments welcome,
Rudy

I like how the grass clumps and the clouds repeat the theme.

A beautiful summer morning in the sierra! That's a sweet little lake. I like the v shape in the trees at the end there. I was thinking of doing a little exploring up McGee Creek this fall.

The sky is amazing. The way the puffs of grass mimic the puffs of clouds is very appealing.

Really nice light and colors Rudy, love the popcorn clouds and clumps of grass. The blend looks good. I guess my only nit would be the comp feels kinda heavy on the right side, but probably nothing you could do about that.

Beautiful capture.

Rudy,

A special place, a special scene, great light and comp, a wonderful image that gives a new interpretation to the word reflections.

Art said it first, but that is the cool thing about this shot, the repeat of the shapes of the clouds and clumps. Really nice comp and light as well.

Love the way the foreground tufts of grass and sky textures mimic each other. The treeline areas look a tad too dark and contrasty on my screen. Would probably process that with no contrast work and a tiny bit of fill light added, then paint it in.

Lucky you! The clouds and reflection make a really strong focus. Foreground plants are nice too. Could maybe see even a pano here with cropping some of the sky.

Rudy,

I really like the graphic nature, the lines, triangles and symmetry captured here. And how the tufts of grass echo the clouds is terrific. Agree with Marc about the darkness of the tree/ridge line. A couple processing tweaks and you'll have a beauty.
