Sunny Side Up

This pictures was from my last visit to New Zealand with Abdullaziz Bin Ali.

This was my first area to photo shoot. Those rocks are huge and they are bit hard to involve as a subject. After 36hours in a plane, transit and driving and not to forget sleeping the night in a tent took away all the comfort dreams I had and faced my first experience of landscape photography!

This is a fantastic first post, Abdulla. The lighting is superb as is the drama in the sky. I also like your placement of the rocks in the scene. They are very unique looking; they remind me of a tortise shell. I hope you will post more images as well as comment on others.

The roundish item in my monitor is dark.
I wonder if it could be lightened a tad?
Good composition and color.

Abdulla, your image has an almost abstract quality to me. The plain composition helps me to concentrate on shapes and shades. I especially appreciate the three-dimensional rock contrasted by the two-dimensional background. Great work in my opinion.

Welcome. Like the simple composition and interesting, turtle-shell-like rock on the foreground.

Thank you all for the welcome wishes. Your comments and time spent observing the image had it's own delight to me.

To know more about the tortoise lookalike rock, here is a bit of information on it.

Abdullaziz, the opacity used 1000% based on your suggestion

These shapes almost seem alive, and the ripples make it feel like they move occasionally.

They do much look alive, a lot of friends thought they were turtles or a sleeping seal. Thanks Tony.
