Wilson's Storm Petrel

Another of the images from my trip to Maine. This shot was taken about 7 miles off Saco Beach. I found these petrels pretty elusive as they dived down toward the water and flirted about. I would have preferred a frontal shot and more depth of field, but I was happy to capture this image.
Thanks for looking.

A neat image, Chuck. I love the look of the water.

A very difficult subject. I like the bit of water trailing from the feet here. As far as both depth of field and shutter speed, there's plenty of room to ramp up your iso with that body, I imagine I would have been shooting these guys at least at 800 iso if I were using that body. :toast:

Works well, b&w a good choice. I like the way the out of focus sky melts into the water with its lovely curves.

Chuck,

I like this as posted for the mood it conveys to me. I have images where there is little to no eye contact from the subject where I find the mood of the shot most appealing.
