Gothic Sunfire

We had an excellent bloom of wildflowers this year in Crested Butte, Colorado. This was taken just before sunrise on a late July morning near Gothic Road and Gothic Mountain. Clouds from the previous evening's storm were just beginning to break up and there was some nice color in the sky as a result. Some varieties of arnica sunflowers and other wildflowers added an interesting foreground to the scene. C&C welcome and appreciated. Thanks for looking!

Classic Colorado scenery...well done, Josh!
I believe that darkening the tall grasses in the midground to more closely match the grasses of the immediate foreground and the green slopes of the mountain would render the exposure just a bit more real.

Square Tower ruin hike is comin' right up!

Sweet, I like it. It looks you got what most of us are looking for.

Although the sky is pretty, I might crop a bit from the top.

Wow, gorgeous! A little glow on the peak would have been killer. I love what you got though. I agree with John's suggestion about darkening the taller, lighter grass. I think the foreground is a little flat.

Joshua,

Just beautiful. I love the near/far comp - you've done a great job showcasing the flowers, yet still including them in a grand vista with a dramatic sky. All nicely balanced. Great color and processing as someone mentioned. Nice work.

Beautiful scenery and nice comp. I especially like the arrangement of wildflowers in the FG. I would echo John's comments on darkening the middle grasses.

Beautiful dof and the colors are excellent. Arnica are one of my favorite wildflowers, I find them very appealling but I like the butte with bright sky behind it best. a beautiful image
