Boundary Waters Dawn

Thank you all for commenting on my last image from the Porkies. This image was taken back in 2008 in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. It was taken in late September, about 30-45 minutes before sunrise, after a night of storms. I liked the cool blues of the dawn mist contrasting with the pinks that were starting to come out, as well as the dynamic feel of the mist. It was our first trip to the BWCA, although I had been imagining scenes like this for years. C&C much appreciated.

I really like the pastel colors here and the mist.

Looks like an incredible morning! The rising mist/fog is fantastic.

This is really nice Matthew. I'm really enjoying the cool blues too, and it looks great with the pink tones. Your panoramic comp works very well for me also. I have friends heading in to the BWCA on a photography trip today. They will be camping for about one week back in there. Nice work Matthew!

Matthew,

Fabulous mood here created by the mist and the semi darkness. Thy only thing I might consider is backing off the blue, otherwise, this is beautiful.
