Crayon Cliffs

Something different from what I usually shoot but I couldn't resist these colorful lichens growing on this rock wall. This is a very large rocky cliff located in a deep canyon. The only other thing growing on these cliffs is evergreens. I wonder how old these colorful lichens are?

As always thanks for taking a look. Any critique, opinion or anything else you would like to add would be much appreciated.

Beautiful color and intriguing abstract Dean. The geometric patterns add depth to the overall scene.

Couldn't have said it any better than Eva. Almost three dimensional in appearance, too.
A very visually engaging image, Dean.

I love the neon here, and good comp. I like that you framed the green with the blue on the outsides.

Really good work Dean - strong composition and some very interesting colors on a rock. The main attention goes to the greens, but I like the subtle blue too.

I'm loving this Dean. A great color combination and all the different shapes within the rock give you so much to look at and explore. Very, very nice.

Love the colorful lichens here.. reminds me of an area I visited in Eastern Washington. I had the same trouble there as the critique I'm going to give you - without some sense of scale it's hard to grasp the full appreciation of these monsterous colored walls. I used a rock climber for my scale reference. As a pure colorful abstract, however, it certainly works quite well.
