Winter Mulies

After receiving our annual Halloween snowfall (it always seems to snow on Halloween ) I went up in the Hills this morning and found over 10 inches of fresh snowfall. Despite the fact that hunting season opened this morning, these muley does were more than willing to stand and pose for me.

All I took with me this morning was my 24-85 not thinking that I was going to be doing wildlife photography. It gave me a good excuse to work on environmental wildlife however.

Specs: EOS 10D - 24- 85mm @ 85mm
1/200 sec, f/5
Mode: Manual
Metering: Partial
ISO: 100
White balance: Auto

I really like this one, Les... I'm glad you left the big one at home for this shot :)... very peaceful and tranquil with winter setting in....

Looks like a winter wonderland, indeed. Very nice composition! At first, though, I thought your copyright symbol were tire tracks in the snow! We just got an impressive dump of snow ourselves which is a little unusual for coastal Alaska at this time of year.

Hi Les, special shot you have here. Excellent piece of work. These are the photographs I really like! Maybe I would crop out just a little bit of the white in the forground and include just a bit more trees next time...but that's just me.

Another vote for a Christmas card. I believe we often concentrateon our big glass to get the close in shots and forget to show the environment. This one makes me realize I need to adjust my perspective occasionally.
