Cascades and Blue

Thank you for your comments on my previous post It Is Knot!.

This image was made in early evening near Sonora Pass a couple of weeks ago in the company of NPNer Reno DiTullio. The transparency was a bit blue (this was lit entirely by the blue-bird sky), so I had to make ample use of TK's Luminosity Masks to correct color and contrast. I also did some selective burning on the top surfaces of some of the rocks. The exposure was a couple of seconds, and thankfully, it wasn't windy.

Simple and beautiful Preston. The burning and exposure balance was not apparent until I read your disclosure, which is a good thing. I really like how the water takes you right through the frame.

I always appreciate an obviously carefully composed and crafted image, and this falls under both categories. This is really nice - well thought out and processed perfectly. Very nice job Preston.

Hey Preston,

This is a nice photo, it brings me comfort. I want to just sit there and listen, I can almost hear the water by looking at this.

That is so simply elegant and perfectly exposed Preston, from top to bottom... wish I had done this, or could do this!! Lovely man.

Very cool, man! Nice work finding a bunch like this not blowing in the wind off the water! Everything here all works for me.

As with all your work, this image is perfectly composed to lead the viewers eye in and through. A beautiful scene and the lupine make an excellent fg.

Well composed, Preston. I like the even lighting and the cascades of
waterfalls. With the Lupine bush in bloom you have a strong FG. Also
thank you for your comments on my most recent post.

This looks great, Preston. I like the three dimensional feel of the composition and the diffused light really helps to bring out the color. This conveys a peaceful feeling.

This is really well done, Preston, from comp, exposure, through processing. My only thought might be to bump up the purple and green sat in the foreground plant a bit to make it stand out a bit more. But what a lovely scene.

Preston,

I'm a little familiar with this lovely location and you've done a great job in showcasing it. The lupine add a great touch to the cascades and I really like the composition. Personally, I'd like to see the vegetation and rocks a little warmer - especially getting the greens to pop a little more; but that's very minor. Well done my friend.
