White fronted bee eater

One thing on my long list of things to photograph this time around were Bee-eaters. Having seen none in the previous two trips to Africa I was astounded that this time they were everywhere. Near the camps, near the rivers, waterholes....trouble was usually the harsh lighting though, and most shots were trashed with heat haze (even the closer birds).

7D, 500mm, ISO400

Lovely bird and colours, too big in the frame for me,not enough space around the subject. Otherwise a lovely image of a stunning bird  :wavey:

Colours are stunning on this one Neil, and the bg is great. :toast: I agree about it being too tight in the frame though - is it full frame?

Cant remember if it is FF but I do have others, I liked the BG on this particular one though. Cheers, will adjust of I can.

hi Neil,
i really like this image - if you could add a wee bit to the bottom giving the tail more room, it would just add to it for me.

The big version is lovely, just agree about it being a tad on the tight side. :toast:
