Saddlebunch Sunset

In the lower keys I got this image, a little after the sun had set. Sunset was a bit disappointing but I stuck it out and these nice light rays showed up and were a great compliment in diagonal to the red mangrove roots.

I find this has a wonderful balance of weight between sky and foreground. The colors are sublime, the mangrove has character, and the sunset sky and clouds are great. Overall a superb image, Paul!

Your foreground subject is very appealing Paul. I really like how it balances the wonderful light and color in the background. A well crafted image.

Persistance paid off, Paul. The rays and clouds are lovely without being a super-colorful spectacle. I think this makes the image more ballanced, allowing the mangrove to be a more important in this shot, rather than just something to put in the foreground.

Paul, this is a spectacular sky. Beautiful colors and rays from the sun. With the Mangrove in the foreground it all fits together nicely. I'm curious. Do you stand in the water while taking these types of images or stand your tripod in the water or from a boat?
Nice work.

Thanks everyone!

Dean, I am typically kayaking so I usually hop out. Sometimes, I sink in mud forever, but fortunately this wasn't more than waist deep when I stopped sinking.

Looks like the sunset and light were pretty good, at least in the way they have been captured here. Great composition, well done!

Paul,

What a glorious sunset. Great balance between the interesting foreground tree/roots and the big, beautiful sky. No nits or suggestions.
