This frog got stranded in our garage. Before I released him into the creek I wanted to take some photos so I set him down on some moss. Not sure how long he would sit before hoping away but he stayed completely still for quite a long time enabling me to get many shots. Maybe he was terrified and afraid to move! I was able to get my camera as close to him as I could and still focus with my 90mm macro lens, meaning inches from his face. Amazing! He finally did hop away.

Canon Rebel T1i. 90mm macro lens. F/8 for 1.3 sec. ISO 100. Tripod mounted.

Carolyn, that is an amazing story, and a beautiful result. I absolutely love this image. I love frogs, and I think this is as good as it gets.

It's a very good shot. This frog seems to have some personality. Good work. :wavey:

Did it lick your lens? Terrific close up and I like the angled head.

Nice, Carolyn! A great look at the eye. The dirt under the mouth is a bonus. I notice most small critters tend to freeze when confronted with danger. Maybe it's part of their camouflage.

Exceptional in your face capture, Carolyn. Maybe an enchanted prince waiting for you to kiss him and break the spell? Any frog lover would love this one.
