Reddish Egret
by Harry Harris
Last Monday was the first morning in a while with no fog or overcast. The activity was very sparse until about an hour after sunrise when two Reddish Egrets arrived. This reddish entertained us for well over an hour. We captured a lot of good images and this is one of my favorites. I would have loved to got a lower POV but I could not because of the elevated trails at Bolsa Chica and having to extend the tripod to almost eye level so I could move up and down the trail to get the lighting correct. The light was starting to get a bit harsh when this image was taken but I think the exposure came out OK.
I cropped to about 60% of original to focus on the egret and decenter it a bit. Normal processing in LR3 and CS5.
Comments and Critiques are appreciated.
