Primrose Morning

I went back through my "water works" series with the cardinal from this spring. I posted a similar awhile back with the bird bathing, and surrounded with wild primrose. Taken around 8:30am under overcast skies.
F/9, 1/200th, ISO 640, 1D M3, 300mm f/2.8 + Kenko 2x extender, no flash.
Cropped to 8.9MB - Best viewed large.

This is really nice Howard, your definitely right about best viewd large. Great detail in the plumage, a unique photo for sure!

Nice pose and natural color. The primroses are a bit distracting for me, though, pulling my eye away from the bird and to the edges of the frame.

Very nice feather detail on the larger version and I like seeing the reflection as well. The composition works fine for me and nice job on those difficult reds, well done.
