Roja Panorama

This is a panoramic view from Fort Margheria, Roja Valley, Maritime Alps on the border between France and Italy. This region had a very important role in the strategy of defence of the two countries at the end of '800 and during the first half of '900.
At the bottom you can see the ancient road (now a tunnel by-pass this) to Col de Tende. 56 hairpin bends to get to about 1900 meter of the pass. At upper left you can see the Central Fortress.

A lager version is provided as this is a stitch from 5 vertical shots.

Canon 40D, Canon 10-22@22, f/13, 1/20sec, ISO100, tripod.

Thanks for looking!

Very nice pano. The road that weaves down the mountain is compelling, and leads the eye through the image.

Your larger view really accentuates the zig zag road here Daniele and Loana. I like the pano format as well.
