I like this shape the best for Daylily Stamens. Some of you might find the colors a bit muted and they sure are and they are what they are

ND200, AF-D 200mm f/4 Micronikkor F/16, 1/25 Sec, ISO 200, Overcast conditions, Tripod etc. Some 25 or so shots stacked (I can do it too  - talk of some bad influence).

Thanks a lot for your comments on Tendril Twist and do let me know what you think of this one.

The detail and dof are great for the amount of magnification. The color and comp are very good.

Good concept and follow through. Colors are a bit muted, though.

Whoa! you stacked 25!!?? Way to go! I really do like this, the frontal picture of the stamens, fading out of focus. How did you choose an interval appropriate to 25 images for what—an inch or so in focus?

Philip, I perfectly focussed some 10 or so shots for each of the pollen pods. The remaining 15 or so shots were for the curved portion of the stamen. I wanted the background soft, hence selected minute increments of pin point focus without bringing the petal details into focus. Total area covered might be about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch at best.

Ram:
You are taking this to the next level, adding stack to SOA. Really fantastic. :jump:

You used a tripod for this?

Absolutely wonderful, Ram. I can't imaging anyone questioning the color, or for that matter, anything about your image. The detail is the greatest and those droplets really do look natural and not sprayed on. Can't say enough about this shot.

Striking, Ram. Reminds me of six soldiers guarding the delicate princess in the bg.
Love the local detail, esp the razor sharp yellow pollen.
