Cheetah

After following this Cheetah around it finally came out in the open, crossed the road and walked across a burned field. I like the backlit effect showing the fluff on it's stomach. The highest reduction percentage I could achieve with the large image was 81% so hope it comes across OK.

I agree NEal, I also like the backlit fur in this shot. It really helps it to stand out with a busier BG like this. Nice work :toast:

Excellent work on the exposure here Neal as well as on separating the cheetah from the busy habitat. Overall I like the feel of this, but cannot help but missing the characteristic tail that unfortunately is hidden right behind the rear right leg.

I really like this Neal ! I too think the exposure on the cat is spot on. The harsh yet opportune terrain adds a lot of interest to the frame.

Terrific pose! I especially like the uplifted front foot and the rim lighting. You did a nice job of isolating him/her from the busy background, but I wonder if a "smidge" more mid-tone on the cat would work even better.

Good detail on the cheetah especially considering the backlighting. You left some room on the right for the cheetah to move into, yet he still seems a bit tight in the frame. Very subjective of course, but that's the nature of critiques.

You caught the cheetah in mid-stride, which is good, but the very busy bg isn't so good, imo. The 'missing' tail has already been alluded to, which is unfortunate. Just two questions - why the spot-metering and why the high shutter speed, which has resulted in the high ISO?
