Scrub blazing star

Haven't been shooting much but had a camera club meeting tonight so went out on a still overcast afternoon to take a macro of our local blazing star. It was really calm so this is about 18 stacked images to get the depth of field I was looking for. Thanks for any comments.

Nikon D200, Sigma 180 macro with Nikon PN11 extension tube
tripod, cable release, mirror lock-up
reflector umbrella for fill and to calm the little breeze
ISO 200
all at f8 @ 1/3 sec

Beautiful image. I like stacking for depth of field. Did you use Helicon Focus? I assume you used the umbrella without flash. At any rate I like it a lot, the color is beautiful, focus is spot on as is the DOF with the stacking.

Good to see you posting Reed. The stack looks good to me as does the subject itself. Beautiful color.

Nice grouping, well photographed, Reed. Stacking is good for the most part - though I am not sure of the bits in the top left corner.

Great DOF Reed. I'll echo the comment about the ULC

Very nice. I like the sparkles of light on the petals, looks like they were dusted with glitter. Beautiful flower, beautiful image

Great job Reed. I'm not expert in stacking. I like the imagewith nice sparkling color, but I'd suggest to crop a bit the upper part to remove the unsharp left top corner.

Some nice detail! I could also go for a tighter crop.

Reed: Nice work on the stack. I find the crop suggestions interesting as I would crop this from the bottom rather than the top. Great colors and clarity. >=))>
