Had to look carefully. But what a great shot. Those colors and details.
The veins are so bright.
Would have loved to have a better view on the head as well, but I can imagine that would have been difficult to realize.
Thx for sharing.

Thanks Jef. Will post another image few days later. I deliberately wanted shallow DOF to keep focus on the veins. Incidently I came across some interesting information on the Veins and its structure Here

Now that is cool!! The wing detail and incredible color here are extraordinary. I'm even more impressed that you were able to stop the motion in the wings with a handheld exposure. Very creative here!!

Excellent image!! I really like the colors and the unique overall shape of the insect, with the DOF you have chosen. The details are exquisite!!! Well Done!

Love the colors of this and the detail on the veins in the wings. Wish I could see more of the DF to see more the context of this shot; was a little confusing at first as to what I was looking at. All the same, this is a great capture and such interesting detail!

Kedar:
A very unusual take on the df wings. I like the blur of the head here. Thanks for the link to the study on DF wings, very interesting.
