An intimate scene showing the alpine summer vegetation with two of my favorite plants: the alpine rhododendron and the infamous veratrum. This was taken back in June in Retezat National Park on our way to catch the sunset on top (when I made the 'Back in time' shot). I know what your going to say about that little violet fellow on the bottom, but I said I'd give him a chance to shine.

Dorin, I really like this just the way it is, including the little violet fellow. It's hard to look away from this image.

I like the juxtaposition of these two alpine icons. The slight blue tones on the rocks works well with the warmer tones in the dry grass. Not sure about the blue flower being so close to the border, but the color accent it adds definitely isn't bad.

I'm going to buck the trend so far Dorin. For me the image is all about the rhodie, the grasses and the lichen covered boulder. My suggestion would be a crop from the bottom; getting rid of the veratrum and the "little violet fella"; making the comp a square.

Thanks, Ed. I have that frame too and maybe will decide to process it these days.

Beautiful color and subjects Dorin. I especially like the rhododendron and the lichen covered rock. I see two wonderful images in one here. The veratrun an little flower could also stand on their own as well.

Dorin, I appreciate the way you present the alpine rhododendron very much. Especially interesting to me are the rock and lichen together with the plant. The grasses also add a lot for me and anchore this upper part of the image nicely for me.

The lower part could work as another image in my opinion. In this case there are too many areas of interest to my eye. I think cropping would help me to concentrate on the main focal point.

Thanks for sharing.

Very nice Dorin.
Only one complaint that little purple flower at the lower left edge hit it with the clone ore crop tool.(Your instinct is right follow your instinct)
Superb.

My first thoughts where identical to Eva's. You did the right thing seeing and shooting both angles. Well done.

Dorin, nicely scene and some beautiful vegetation you captured here. I would agree with Ed, and focus on the grass, rhodendrum and boulder. You processed this very nicely.

It seems like the rock and rhodie could be their own comp. It maybe seems a bit busy with the other elements.

An interesting comp, Dorin--its quirky and as ive said many times i like quirky! I just wish there was a little less mid ground so the two subjects were a little closer. Cool tho

Unique find Dorin, the top is especially nice. Would like to see a comp with just the rhodoendron and rock together. Nicely seen.
