Eagle high in Himalaya

In a remote corner of Nepal, 6000 meter high snow covered Mountains make an unreal setting for eagles. While photographing Himalayan blue sheep this eagle flew past.

The dark feathers are in stark contrast with the pure white snow peak.

Long lens from tripod.

Really wonderful setting. The composition is a bit different from most of the photos you see out here, in terms of the direction of flight and space for the bird to "fly into", but I think it balances well with slanting peak rising to the right of the frame.

Nice shot with the mountains as a BG. I would like to have seen more detail in the eagle, but you take what you can get. Is this the Asian golden eagle? Thanks for sharing.

What a shot... Great to have Juvenile Golden Eagle with himalayan background. Envy of this image & making me home sick of the himal.

I like that you "broke" the usual rules for comp in this shot. The higher peak balances the shot nicely. Killer backdrop. I'd wish for more details in the bird, but this is quite good as posted.
