Hi Charlie, I like the image. It is nice and sharp. IMHO it could use a touch of brightening in the shadow areas of the butterflies face, maybe a bit of fill flash. The OOF flower in the BG is a bit distracting, cloning it out might strengthen the image. Thanks for sharing this neat butterfly shot.

Good critique John. I will work on the dark area of the face and upper body. See what I can do there. I started with a rather imperfect image that I liked and have gotten to a still imperfect image I only like a bit better

Very nice composiiton Charlie. I really like the diagonal triangle of the butterfly with the rounded flowers. There is some slight noise in the background, but it is rather film like in quality and is quite attractive.

Marvelous composition Charlie, really like the use of diagonal and the eye-contact!

I like the diagonal line the subject makes here Charlie. The detail in the larger version looks great despite the large crop. Unfortunately the light is a bit on the harsh side. I am not bothered by the flower in the BG at all, but do wish we would be seeing more of the butterfly and less of the (shadowed) underside of the flower head.

Charlie, not my favorite angle since a lot of the butterfly is cut off, but this still works because of the angle of the wings and the look he is giving the viewer. I leo think you might be able to pull a few more details out of the blacks, but the edges of the pedals are a bit on the bright side as well. Overall, nice comp and colors though.
