I love your little fur ball with the tongue action. The colors of the bear are really neat.

Delightful image, Sandy. Don't recall seeing baby grizzly photos often. Was there danger of being this close to this subject?

Charlie, these are some of the very acclimated (for better or worse) bears near the Silver Salmon Creek Lodge on Lake Clark. Generations of bears have never been harassed or hurt here, and the bears and even moms with cubs are very trusting. If one is still, they will walk within 50 feet of you.
Still, you can bet mom had her eye on us, just to be sure!

Another very cute image, Sandy! Just love the tongue protruding out of its mouth! I might put the cub a little more to the right and a teeny weeny bit lower, to avoid it being so centrally placed.

Wonderfully cute, I wonder if a slight boost in contrast would bring this up a little?

What a cute little bear. The pose of the cub is really good.
Is it possible to get some more details in the eye?
Well done Sandy!

Sally I agree on the incredible cuteness factor here . I am puzzled a bit by your shooting techs; why f/16 and 1/40 sec? IMO less DOF would have benefitted this image and at 1/40 sec you were running a big risk of getting unsharp images, although this one looks surprisingly sharp I would give the bear only a little tweak in the mid-tones as it looks a bit washed out o my screen.

Hi Sandy. Wonderful subject, somewhat of an understatement really. Beautiful setting with nice texture in the pebbly beach. You also have a great low angle and no distracting elements. The lighting may have been a bit overcast perhaps. I have been playing with switching my white balance to cloudy from auto if it is "cloudy" and it seems to help the over all look imho. I shoot raw, so not sure if it makes any substantial difference, but that's my uneducated experience for what it's worth. I say this as several have pointed out the flat appearance.

Sandy, good techs on this...but what makes it for me is this is an 11 on the cuteness scale from 1-10!

Great capture Sandy! Love the pose and seeing those paws out in front as they are shown. That tongue is great too. Really nice composition as well. Hope to see more!

Way too cute!
I like the composition as well and would not change the crop: I like the bands of fine and coarse sand.
