Least Tern and chick

I am posting in this forum after really a long time. I hope to be more active again.
This photo was taken at the Sandy Beach near Newburyport, MA. I was lucky enough to enjoy this parent least tern feed the chick.

I cropped about 40%, straightened it and cloned out 2 bright spots. Typical post processing was done using LR3 and CS5.

Canon 7D |500mm f/4 + 1.4x TC | ISO 200 | f/10 @ 1/1250

Thank you for looking. Any C & C will be appreciated.
Cheers,
RD

Great low angle, good pose and bang-on exposure. Very nicely handled.

I like the low angle POV and the interaction between the subjects.

Congrats

Wonderful action and composition, Rajan. The exposure looks perfect and the detail is also excellent. If you haven't posted in some time, you can now post an auxiliary image at larger size (1200 pixels in the long direction) It really helps in checking image quality if you care to post that way.

Sounds good. I'll try to post the bigger picture later tonight.

Thanks you all for your comments. I really appreciate it.

A wonderfully intimate family portrait, a great low angle, setting and light.

Rajan, you can only post the larger version at the same time as you post the 720 pixel version, you can't do it afterwards. Hope that will help in the future.

What at an amazing behavioral shot. I absolutely love it. Chicks slightly awkward pose makes it even more interesting. :toast: :toast:

Lovely moment, well captured. Dof is perfect. Great poses by both. The fish is almost as long as the little chick...which deserves a cuteness award! Well done. Sharon

Andrius: I had amazing time watching the tern chicks (there were 2). This chick actually couldn't eat the fish the way it was presented to him. He dropped it on the sand, tried to peck at it a couple of time and gave up. Didn't know what to do next. The parent came back and fed it to the chick again. Amazing.
