Hi guys,

Thanks so much for your comments on The Ents Live.

This posted image was taken at the exact same spot but earlier in the morning.

It's a 3-image stack taken at f/2.8, -.3 EV, 1/1250s, ISO 100, tripod, cable release. The most difficult problem to solve was the moving leaves that showed up even at 1/1250th s.

Comments and suggestions welcomed.

:wavey:

Regards,

Carol

I like it Carol. No real suggestions. Excellent detail and good subject separation. I also like the mood.

Carol:
I like the color and details in the trunk. Looking back at "The Ents Live" makes me think of an alternative - keeping the color in the trunk and converting the bg into B&W.

Carol, I really like the toning for the background. Not sure you did that in processing and if so, 3 cheers for that effort. Textures on the trunk and the patterns its displaying

It looks like the stack was the answer. Terrific detail in the cactus and excellent separation from the background.

Carol, the texture of the trunk is really splendid. The only thing that I feel: it seems to me that something doesn't match between subject and background.
Take care.

Very nice stack work, Carol. The detailed textures go on forever. Like the mood here, also.
