Olympus E-5, 300mm x 2.0TC, handheld sitting on ground
f9, 1/250, ISO250

Arctic Ground Squirrel, Savage River Canyon, Denali National Park, earlier today.

Full frame, usual sharpening drill. The little guy gave me a lot of shots so there may be a series.

C & C, please. Thanks for looking.

Cracking little fellow Jim, love the stance with bags of detail. The vegetation colour really sets off the fur colour & tones nicely. Personally I might be tempted to move the whole crop a fraction more to the left to avoid the more central POV and have a fraction more room to look into, but no deal breaker. My only wish Jim if possible would be to tone down the whitish twigs in the BKG.

Nice one Jim - the color is great and the shot's nice and sharp. I'd prefer the little guy to be a bit less centered, that's my only nit.

Awesome low point of view really makes this one for me. Excellent detail, lighting and pose. The bit of brightness directly behind the nose is slightly unfortunate, but I'm getting way picky to even mention it. Well done Jim!

I like it. Detail and color are excellent, but I do agree some of the oof stems are unfortunate.
