A short hike out to Indian Point offers an overlook of Sedona and Mitten Ridge. Clouds covered most of the sky, but a hole offered thirty minutes of sun upon the red rocks Saturday evening.

That is really sweet, Doug! I love the lighting here. The flat sky combined with range of color and detail throughout the landscape make for a feast for the eyes.

My favorite type of landscape in which you included a cornacopia of typical flora! The light that finally appeared is scattered across the scene perfectly. No nits.

This is a beautiful landscape, Doug. You really put together a wonderful comp to show this scene off. The light is fantastic and I love the natural looking colors. The large version is a real joy!

Very interesting/complex foreground arrangement but it works very well and makes the scene feel intimate. I love the depth. Well done! I do notice some haloing around the trees on the right.

Hey Doug
This is really sweet! Much better than anything I got last night. I really like your inclusion of the trees on the right side, something that was not obvious to me. Well Done!

My only nit is cropping this a bit tighter all around. Other than that, what amazing color and variety of textures in the terrain! So much to gaze upon!

Hey Doug - Shane said you got something really nice last night...he was right! Love the yuccas in the fg and the glowing red rocks with the dark sky. Sorry I missed shooting with you guys, hopefully next time!

The light really makes this sing, Doug! Wonderful color and your comp is highly effective in translating the distance here. Marvelous work!

Thanks for the feedback. I was worried that the foreground was too busy.
Mat, I too saw the halo, but it is not present in the full sized version, so suspect it may due to my sharpening for the web.

Quintessential Arizona, Doug. Well composed, lit, and processed. It really looks and feels exactly like this.

Of course there's the light, but where this image stands out to me is in the way you've managed to arrange some structure into a very busy scene. To further that cause, I think a crop from the right might be worth consideration.
