Been working on documenting Alaska's spiders for a new guide. This was taken on a bright and beautiful day. The bright sun revealed the transparent quality of the spider and a fill flash with a large softbox was used to fill the shadows.It was really windy so the flash also helped "freeze" the spider. Blue sky was natural.

Excellent technique and lighting Carl, both spider and web look clear & sharp with nice detail..
Interesting comp, I especially like the blue BG & translucence of the spiders legs revealed here.
