Australasian Grebe

A party of these birds were working the shoreline of a lake and I just lay down and waited for them to pass by. This bird is losing its breeding plumage.

1d2n 500/f4 1.4X
ISO 800 f8 1/250 heavy overcast with just a second of sunlight as the sun tried to peek out between two clouds

The lighting here is great and I like the feather detail and BG. The comp includes the reflection which is great. Nice job Rob.

I really like the feather detail on this one plus the low angle and partial reflection, interesting colors around the head, nice job in getting this, way to go.

I love how your low angle makes this grebe stand out so well from the water, the silky texture of the water and the appealing pewter color of it. Lovely eye contact, details and sharpness. Would be happy with this image in my files.
