The King

Hi all!
At the end of May, this year, me and a friend spent 11 days in Norway, in the Romsdal region. Mountains, fjords, coasts, bad weather, we had it all. Although the photographs aren't quite up to what I hoped for, given the constant lousy weather that followed us, the whole experience was really worth it. We had to constantly adapt our initial plans and try be one step ahead of the rain. We mostly failed  , but did that having a great time.
The peak you see here is named The King or Kongen in Norwegian. It has only 1614m, but it's quite dramatic and given the latitude, is covered with snow well into the summer. This image was taken on our last sunrise shooting of the trip. Hope you like it. Also, if you have some spare time, I invite you to check my latest images, including the ones from Norway.

The light hitting the peak of that mountain is spectacular. It is subtle, yet effective and the mist/clouds surrounding everything else adds an ethereal quality.

Hi Dorin,

It is a very pretty picture. Your composition and processing work well together. By the way, your latest gallery is spectacular! I like all pictures included in it. My two favorites are probably whimsy morning and don't forget me - although there are several others that caught my eye too. It'd be a nice touch if you added locations underneath your very creative titles. Wonderful work.

Stan beat me to it, but I'll add that bad weather also makes for memorable trips in many ways. I Love the spotlight on the peaks, the clouds, and the telephoto view.

Incredible atmosphere and light! Sweet mountain too! My one suggestion would be to darken just the shadows of the trees at the bottom.

Awesome shot. Great composition. This "king" really towers over the trees below it. I may look to add a bit of warmth to the sunlit peak, just to see how it feels.

A beautiful capture, Dorin. Love the pastel colors and filtered light. The mist adds lots of mystery.
