Marsh Wren
by Ron Dudley
Taken at Bear River MBR in May of this year. That morning was the only successful session I've ever had with this species and to my pleasant surprise more than one wren cooperated with me. Go figure...
7D, 1/2500, f/8, ISO 400, 500 f/4, 1.4 tc, shot from pickup window on 5/13/11, cropped to 78% of original image, minor exposure adjustment in ACR, sharpened bird and perch, cloned out a very small OOF bit of cattail fuzz at frame edge, no additional processing or adjustments, natural light, not set up or baited

Techs look great all around too. I find the way the stalk ends right below the beak interesting.
He could be resting his chin..Hey, it's a lot of work when you're singin' that loud
They sure sang their little hearts out for us and gave us plenty of open views.

I made 4 efforts this spring for marsh Wren. Struck out. Good to see your success. Love this bird.
