Reddish Egret Juvi

It's interesting that, as many Reddish Egrets I've seen and photographed at Ft DeSoto, I've never once seen a juvenile there, and oddly enough, on only two occasions I've seen the species in Gulfport, both times they were juveniles. This is one of the two I found this morning beside Gulfport harbor during cloudy conditions. Cropped 70% for comp.

I like the very soft light and muted tones here. The pose is great too, and with the rest of the soft tones, the eye really pops out. Nicely done.

Bill, a regal stance here. The colors of the water play nicely with those of the egret.

Bill, I like the almost graceful relaxed pose and the colors of the bird with the upper background.

Beautiful, Bill. Great pose and the waves make a good bg.

I like the soft lighting here. Nice view of those mottled back feathers with a good head turn. I would consider taking just a bit off the right for a little less centered bird.

Bill,

Love seeing the juvie posted here. Lovely pose, setting and soft light. The curves of the neck are a nice compliment to the strighter, horizontal lines in the background. Love the natural colors. An appealing image imo.
