Angel Wing Lotus

A shot of last year's bloom of this white lotus. The buds are ready to pop open, but we have resident racoons that are knocking over the plants and eating the fish (got them all). So far I've been lucky it has only broken leaves. The image was taken using Canon 7D, using 100-400 IS lens.

Patricia: What a beautiful bloom and a superb capture. None of the water gardens around here have lotus flowers so I'm insanely jealous. I can also see this cropped tighter to fill the frame without the negative space but I do like seeing a bit of its environment. Really nicely done.>=))>

This is gorgeous Pat. I love the light and the comp. As fine a lotus image as I've seen.

Lotus time! yay!
Lovely detail in the bloom and leaf. Not so sure about the upper and lower right. I might make that whole area black like the left side, or crop tighter to just the bloom and a small area of the beautifully-veined leaf all around. .
A couple little blips in the middle of the left black area could go...

This is really really gorgeous!! Like this a lot especially the yellow/orange anthes and the lotus pod. I like this as posted but I think a square format may also work.
