This was shot at first light in Botany Bay around the Edisto area of South Carolina. There used to be three trees upright in the water but as you can see in my image now there are only two and a stump!

I like this alot, Ryan. I feel it has even more impact cropped off the bottom either as a 4x5 or sqare. Although the surf at the bottom does show some nice diagonal motion, I feel it is too much 'negative space'.

I really like the simplicity of this image. Great light.

You should have included the story that you included for this image on 500px! Anyway... I really like this image as is, but could also see a crop that Doug is suggesting. Without the hint of sand to anchor the shot, it would give an even more surreal feeling of trees floating in the ocean. Either way, I like the composition and processing a lot.

Oh no, RIP tree. I think I've seen images of this spot before. I love the FG wave action. I think I would suggest cropping a little off the top. The blue up there isn't really adding something, and cropping makes the horizon a little less centered. Cropping from the bottom is an option as well.

Lovely water, sky, and silhouette. The lower left darker area of water detracts a bit for me. I feel the image would be stronger with that cropped out.
Really nice!

Now that is a photogenic tree! Gorgeous light and motion in the foreground waves.

A beautiful shot, Ryan. Love the colors and strong composition. The wave lines are very nice and lead into the shot very well. I like the space around the tree as is.

I am with Doug and Sandy with cropping off hte llc snad and maybe 1/2 the water to right above the stone in the center. I think that crop would help emphasize the tree against the sunrise.

A weird scen - looks like a composite, though I know it isn't. Definately made me take a second look. The gentle waves and shutter speed add to the effect.
